I stayed at a small hotel along the coastal area of Awaji, and I found it to be cosy and comfortable. The food was quite good, and the welcome drink was a nice touch. However, communication with the staff can be a bit challenging due to language barriers, so patience is key. The shuttle service between the sister hotels was convenient, but overall it may not be ideal for those who struggle with language differences.

The room was larger than I expected, but unfortunately, it had a noticeable cigarette smell upon entry.

My stay at this cozy hotel was quite pleasant overall. It is located along a beautiful coastal area and offers a unique experience with its sister hotels that you can visit too. While the staff was eager to help, communication was a bit challenging due to the language barrier, but with a little patience, it was manageable. The food was tasty, although I wish the dining options were even more varied. The shuttle service between the hotels was great for getting around, but do keep in mind that you might need some translation help.

The room was bigger than I expected, which was a nice surprise. However, it had a lingering cigarette smell when I entered, which wasn't ideal. On the plus side, there was a safe to secure my valuables.
Service
6.0
The staff varied quite a bit in their communication styles. While one person was quite welcoming and made efforts to assist us, another seemed less compassionate, which was a little disheartening. Patience is really needed here.
Location

Situated in a lovely coastal area, it's convenient to explore the attractions in the vicinity, including onsen options. The transport from Sannomiya Station in Kobe was smooth.
Dining
7.0
Dining was enjoyable, with dishes being good and more than enough for an average appetite. That said, having a wider selection would definitely enhance the experience.
Facilities

The facilities were decent, and the shuttle service added a lot of convenience to our stay. However, there could definitely be improvements in communication and staff training.

I found this small hotel along the coastal area of Awaji to be quite cozy and comfortable. There are a couple of sister hotels that we could visit, which added to the experience. However, communication was a bit challenging due to the language barrier, so patience is key. The food was enjoyable, and there was a nice welcome drink, but you should be prepared for some quirks in service and a bit of wait time for questions to be answered.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in had a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke when I entered, which was quite off-putting. However, it did come with a safe to lock up my valuables while I participated in activities.
Service
5.0
The service seemed a bit distant, as staff were not very communicative and one staff member even gestured in a way that felt dismissive. Nonetheless, they did provide me with an extra-long yukata that fit perfectly.
Location
7.0
Situated by a small harbor in Sumoto, the location has its charm, but it may be a bit isolated for some travelers. Access via bus from Sannomiya Station in Kobe was straightforward though.
Dining

I found the food to be very good and more than sufficient for my needs, particularly for someone like me who enjoys trying local flavors. The welcome drink was also a nice touch.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers shuttle service between the sister hotels, which is quite convenient, but additional facilities seemed limited.

I had a nice stay at this cozy hotel located along the coastal area of Awaji. The atmosphere was comfortable, and while communication was a bit challenging due to language barriers, I found a way to make it work, thanks to Google Translate. The shuttle service between the sister hotels was convenient, although it would be better if more effort was made for clearer communication. The food was good, and overall I felt it was a decent value for what I paid.
